With a marketing background starting with Time Life International in London, James Pritchard-Barrett then started his own mail order company (Initial Ideas Gifts) in 1992 which he built to a 5m turnover by 2007. During this time he also founded a fulfilment company to service his other clients as well as his own company. This is where he began his relationship with several German companies – Pro-Idee and Peter Hahn among others. His experience in fulfilment services – customer service, pick pack and despatch paralleled his experience in direct marketing and mail order marketing.
Making the most of the UK market
In 2003 he recognised that the UK consumer market was a widening opportunity for overseas businesses to move into and he decided to use his expertise to help them launch their products into this lucrative area. This is when Giantmicrobes started to use his services and others followed, notably EMP Merchandising HGmbh. James helped them to launch into the UK and took their UK business from zero to 5M before they were bought out by a US investment corporation.
James now heads up a small team of professionals which enables Market Landing to offer expertise in Ecommerce, accounting support and customer service as well as other personnel ready to manage your stands at trade shows around the UK, particularly the Spring and Autumn Fairs in Birmingham which are the largest trade fairs in the country.
